The company
This leading retirement village company is at the forefront of aged care facilities and services across New Zealand and Australia. They have villages all over the country and are well known for a forward-thinking and modern design and construction mindset. With a number of villages in the design and development stages and also under construction, the company is focussing on excellence in terms of the planning stages for concept and detailed design, and the resource and building consent processes.
The position
Based in Auckland, covering 6 months maternity cover (which could be extended to 8 months) the role is to work on projects in NZ and Australia. There is no travel involved. The Planner will be handed programmes and will be interpreting information, carrying out analysis, mitigating risk and help decision making in the planning process. The Planner will be trained and supported by 2 Senior Planners and will be working with Development Managers, Design Teams, Construction Project Managers and Regional Construction Managers, and will need to be good at following processes and gathering information.
Applicants must be available to start in the position on 11th November 2024.
The rate and location
The rate for the position will be dependent on experience, in the range of $70-90/hr on a GST contractor basis. It will be full-time in the office initially, however once the Planner is up-to-speed then flexible working arrangements are available, ie working from home 3 days a week.
The person
- Applicants must have experience of working as a Planner in New Zealand
- Applicants must be proficient in and have significant planning and scheduling experience, using either MS Project or Primavera P6
- Strong communications skills with a positive outlook, an amiable character and able to work well in a team
- Good at interpreting information, analysis, risk mitigation and helping decision making
- Experience of working in construction, engineering or infrastructure
- Experience in retirement villages/aged care is highly desirable
