· Flexibility

· Fantastic training opportunity!

· 0.5 FTE permanent role

For a health career packed with benefits, you won’t find much better opportunity. We cover the southern region of Auckland, New Zealand’s largest city, and look after more than 10% of the country’s population. `

We’re unique in terms of the diverse population including Maaori, Pacific and Asian ethnicities. The medical challenges we face in Ophthalmology include Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, and a population with a high incidence of diabetes, and that all adds up to one great training ground for medical procedures and cultural practices alike.

We welcome interest from Consultants with a particular interest and experience in surgical or medical retina, cataract and general ophthalmology. This is a permanent, part time role to suit someone who is wanting to get some flexibility in their work environment and keen to work at CM Health and gain fantastic clinical experience.

Our Ophthalmology department has excellent facilities and equipment. The service delivers a broad range of secondary care ophthalmology. You will be based in our Ophthalmology Clinic in New Zealand's leading outpatient facility Manukau Health Park (MHP) but we have also expanded to run clinics out of Middlemore Hospital. From time to time, there may be sessions required to be undertaken at Auckland District Health Board facilities as we work towards a more regional approach. We are also in the process of expanding our outpatient services to 6 days per week (Saturdays), but weekend work is entirely voluntarily and fee for service.

Candidates must have an Ophthalmology Surgical or Medical Retina Fellowship or equivalent, preferably FRANZCO and vocational registration with the Medical Council of NZ.
