About the Role
This is a flexible opportunity for an experienced or aspiring specialist in Palliative Medicine or Medical Officer to work in Taranaki Base Hospital and have strong links to the local Te Rangimarie Hospice. You will play a key role in providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients with life-limiting illnesses, supported by an experienced team of Clinical Nurse Specialists and a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
The role includes inpatient consults, support for primary palliative care providers, and involvement in service development. There is flexibility around full-time or part-time FTE, and the role can be structured to suit your lifestyle and career goals.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The position is part of the Department of Medicine team and an interest or dual approach to Internal medicine can be considered. There are no on call or weekend commitments currently.

About you, you will have:
· Vocational registration (or eligibility) with the Medical Council of New Zealand
· Fellowship in Palliative Medicine or a relevant medical discipline (e.g., General Practice, Internal Medicine)
· A commitment to delivering holistic, person-centred care
· Experience working in interdisciplinary teams
· A passion for service improvement and equity in end-of-life care
