We are seeking Consultant Psychiatrists to join our Acute Adult Mental Health Services, to work in our modern adult inpatient mental health unit, Tiaho Mai. You will be motivated, enthusiastic, and a highly professional Doctor, who is ready to work as part of a dynamic team, delivering quality equity-focused mental health inpatient care.   

 

Following a transformative re-build incorporating latest technology and co-designed with our whaiora and wider community, Tiaho Mai is the newest inpatient mental health unit in the country.

 

This role provides critical leadership for our inpatient whaiora, and has the opportunity to contribute to policy, procedure and service development, and supporting the team through the next stages of health sector reform. The Consultant Psychiatrist leads one of our medical teams, and acts as a role model for high standards of care by supporting an environment where excellence can flourish.

 

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate a genuine commitment to the people who we serve, within the diverse and culturally rich community of Counties Manukau.   Our candidate will demonstrate, excellent communication skills, be highly organised, and possess honesty, integrity and professionalism. You will need to have the ability to promote teamwork and navigate through the challenges of providing complex care to whaiora with complex presentations, by promoting a strong team culture and function, and a genuine focus on equitable health systems and outcomes. 

 

Supported by the leadership team, you will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to strategic and service development. Working alongside the Service Manager, Acute & Hospital Services, the Clinical Head and members of the Senior Leadership Team, you will support implementation of service goals, and grow a workplace of excellence, by applying the latest evidence to inform the model of care.

 

Vocational registration with the Medical Council of NZ in the scope of Psychiatry and a current APC is essential at commencement of employment.
