Mō te tūranga - About the role

Our Radiology Service provides to a population of approximately 310,000 people over the lower South Island where our work is predominately emergency and inpatient cases. We offer a full range of imaging modalities based on digital RIS / PACS systems. Our radiology department in Dunedin department is fully equipped with two MRI scanners, two multiislice CT scanners, Spect Nuclear Medicine department, Ultrasound, Digital Fluoroscopy and an Interventional suite.

This new vacancy requires a Diagnostic Radiologist with a special interest in Nuclear Medicine. The successful applicant would also be required to have a general scope of skills including MRI and CT guided procedures, to complement an existing team of five Interventional Radiologists and six Diagnostic Radiologists.

As a team who prides ourselves in the work we do, and the care provided to our patients, quality is at the centre of our service and there is an expectation that you will participate in quality initiatives as part of your role. You will participate in an out of hours on call roster (1:6) shared equally amongst your Radiologist colleagues.

This is an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of the set-up of Nuclear Medicine department in the new Dunedin hospital, as well as being at the forefront for the introduction of new procedures and Nuclear medicine imaging.

This would involve liaising with your colleagues throughout NZ and Australia, and within the hospitals in the district.

You will be providing reporting services for Nuclear Medicine, general CT, MRI, SPECT-CT and other radionuclide imaging reporting and administrative duties to support the service. There is the possibility there will be a PET scanner in the new Dunedin hospital, and reporting for this would also fall under the applicant's scope.

You must be FRANZCR qualified (or equivalent) and hold, or be eligible for, vocational registration with Medical Council of NZ. If you are an international candidate, you can be considered for this role under the condition, you are eligible for vocational registration with the MCNZ.

Utu whānui - Salary range

This role belongs to the ASMS Collective Agreement and falls between the Step 1 ($185,380) and Step 15 ($267,980 per annum pro rata)
