About the Role

We have an opportunity available to join our Health Protection team as a Coordinator – Communicable Disease. This is a fixed-term, part-time role.

The primary purpose of this role is to provide high quality, timely, one-to-one support to the Group Manager, including dealing with matters of a highly confidential and sensitive nature. This role provides a range of day-to-day coordination functions, including project co-ordination and product delivery, to enable the Health Protection Directorate to deliver on a high-quality work programme.

The fixed-term ends on Friday 10 April 2026.

About you

You are someone with demonstrated experience in providing executive support at a leadership level. You can adapt rapidly to constantly changing situations and comfortable with ambiguity. You are a master of task prioritisation, with the ability to handle a wide range of responsibilities. You excel at being the go-to point of contact for urgent matters, ensuring seamless communication. Your coordination skills shine through when it comes to scheduling and managing meetings, as well as gathering essential documents to facilitate decision making. Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience (at least 2-3 years) in administration and/or coordination roles
  • A relevant graduate and post-graduate qualification or comparable experience (Desired)
  • Attention to detail, be well organised and able to complete tasks on time.
  • Proficient in desktop applications such as Microsoft Suite
  • Experience with office management procedures and awareness of the basic accounting principles required to process expenses and accounts
  • Ability to work within a team and autonomously
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • With the support of Health NZ, you will proactively take care of your own health and safety, to ensure a safe and supportive work environment
