Mō te tūnga | About the role
We're seeking a highly skilled Delivery Excellence Team Lead to join Oranga Tamariki and drive the successful delivery and integration of data projects across our organisation. In this role, you will lead efforts to identify opportunities for improvement in data solutions and architecture, collaborate closely with system and technology teams, and ensure that all data projects meet the needs of our stakeholders.
Your work will directly support our frontline Social Work Services, enabling them to better utilize reliable data and insights in their roles. We are looking for talented professionals to join the System Leadership group at Oranga Tamariki, where you will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of New Zealand's children's system. As part of the Strategy, Insights, and Performance team, you will lead initiatives that drive data, insights, and performance strategies essential for informed decision-making and achieving organisational excellence. Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring
Key requirements of the role include:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience is desirable
- Ability to ensure Māori data governance and sovereignty principles are incorporated into data projects, solutions and data architecture design
- Ability to identify and mitigate risks associated with data solutions and architecture, including data security, privacy and governance risks
- Experience leading and delivering the design, build and implementation of data solutions and architecture
- Experience in effectively engaging stakeholders and project sponsors throughout a project to support resourcing requirements and buy-in
- Ability to assess data related project plans and data solutions, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements
- Demonstrated understanding of medium to long-term technology trends
- Knowledge of public sector data regulations, policy requirements and reporting and monitoring principles
- Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture
