About the Role

The Hospital Dental Service within MidCentral - Palmerston North Hospital is expanding, which means we have exciting new opportunity for a Dental Officer to join our team! This role is for 24 hours per week, consisting of three clinical and one non-clinical sessions.

As a Dental Officer within the Hospital Dental Service, you will provide a high standard of clinical care to patients in our community requiring dental services. This includes referred patients in a clinic and procedure setting as well as acute patients that present to the Emergency Department during working hours.

Dental services are provided primarily in the dental unit, with regular sessions in the Operating Theatre for patients that require general anaesthetic.

The Hospital Dental Service requires the development of effective working relationships across multidisciplinary teams, and the ability within a service and organisation committed to continuous quality improvement and to achieving accreditation. We are a teaching hospital, and you will be required to provide supervision and instruction for Resident Medical Officers rostered to the Dental service.
