The Deputy Chief Executive (DCE) – Corporate will provide executive leadership and direction to WorkSafe’s corporate functions, including People and Culture, Finance and Business Planning, Legal, Safety and Property, Risk and Compliance, and Ministerial Servicing. The DCE will also act as the Chief Security Officer. The position is part of the ELT and will support the CE and contribute to the overall strategic direction.

To be successful in this key position, you will be an experienced senior leader, having led an integrated corporate services function for a substantial organisation. You will be an exceptional leader of people and highly skilled in leading change. Your background will include a relevant discipline – people and culture, finance (CFO), legal or risk management. You will operate with a continuous improvement focus and have exceptional judgement and communication ability. You will understand the regulatory environment and principles relating to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. 

Additonally, this role is responsible for overseeing and leading the delivery of core IT services, including managing ICT and information management functions, projects, and ensuring success measures are met as expected. The focus is on providing agreed service levels, supporting business needs, and driving efficiencies through digital solutions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring stable and secure information systems in line with performance metrics.
  • Managing vendor service provision and ensuring compliance with service agreements.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulations and standards related to information management, assurance, and data protection.
  • Leading information security direction and participating in a broader security committee within WorkSafe Mahi Haumaru.
