Our client is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician / Mechanic to join their team in Napier.

Our Napier client is looking for an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic / Technician for their busy and well established company.  Their workshop deals with heavy transport working on leading brands and is highly regarded in the industry where they pride themselves on a high level of reliable service.

Your role will require you to be responsible for:

  • Service, repairs and maintenance on a broad range of trucks
  • Identifying, diagnosing, repairing and managing faults using modern electronic diagnostic tools
  • COF and accident repairs
  • Operating from the workshop and attending breakdowns/call outs when required
  • Performing your duties whilst adhering to clients' OH&S requirements and values

In order to be successful, you will have the following skills, experience or licenses:

  • Relevant trade qualification ideally, with minimum 2 years experience working on late model trucks
  • Strong technical and mechanical skills with exposure to diesel engines, hydraulics and electrical circuits
  • The ability to work in a team environment with good communication skills
  • Organised, flexible and adaptable with a willing “can do” and positive attitude
  • Appropriate drivers licence / classes
