About the Role

We are looking for motivated and adaptable Clinical Dietitians to join our Hamilton based team at Waikato Hospital. These roles offer opportunities to work across acute, outpatient, and community settings, delivering evidence-based medical nutrition therapy and education to our diverse patient population.

About the Team/Service

Our dietetic team includes approximately 30 dietitians working across acute, community, outpatient and renal services. Our Waikato dietetic service covers a large geographical area; we provide care at Waikato Hospital, a large tertiary teaching hospital, as well in our smaller rural hospitals: Tokoroa, Taumarunui, Te Kuiti and Thames Hospitals.

About you

As the ideal person for this role, you will have the following skills and attributes:

  • New Zealand Dietitians Board registration and current annual practicing certificate (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Dietitians Prescriber status (or working towards)
  • Strong clinical skills, including the ability to work autonomously
  • Experience in renal, critical care and/or paediatrics is desired
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong team focus
  • A full clean New Zealand driver’s license
  • Cultural competence and a commitment to cultural safety and equity:
    • Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application in healthcare.
    • Awareness of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches—or a willingness to learn
