About the Job

As a Driver Trainer & Assessor, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive training, development, and safety assessments for drivers across Auckland, Hamilton, and Tauranga, so you must be prepared for some travel. You will conduct documented annual assessments, implement retraining programs, and leading safety briefings. This role has a heavy emphasis on ensuring health and safety protocols are closely followed and you will work closely with the operations team to review incidents and refine training strategies.

Hours: This role is approximately 45 hours per week, with a 3.00 am start every day from Monday to Friday 

About You

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • An accredited Driver Assessor Qualification.
  • A minimum Class 4 driver’s license, with the ability to operate and audit a variety of vehicles.
  • A passion for safety, training, and driver development.
  • A strong understanding of the waste industry and its regulations.
  • Previous management experience in the heavy vehicle, truck, or diesel industries.
  • Familiarity with Japanese, European, and North American truck models.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • A proactive and professional approach to working with drivers from all backgrounds.

All candidates must have long-term legal work rights in New Zealand.
