About the Role
The role works in close collaboration with Duty Nurse Manager colleagues across the district at the Nelson Hospital site to maintain patient, staff and site safety.
The role has an emphasis on leadership of staff, patient safety and management of resources requiring you to be flexible and adaptable to meet changing service needs.
This is a permanent 0.6FTE position, working an average of 48 hours a fortnight, predominantly on afternoon, night and weekend (8 hour) shifts.
About the Team/Location
The Duty Nurse Manager team is responsible for the after-hours coordination of the Wairau Hospital site at an operational level with delegated authority of the Service Manager.
About You
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
- You will be an enthusiastic and visionary Senior Registered Nurse with advanced clinical knowledge and expertise, excellent communication skills and the ability to work autonomously.
- You will have a minimum of five years recent post registration experience and with Proficient/Expert on PDRP, or working towards Proficient/Expert.
