Now, at a critical moment in the Regeneration Programme, we have the momentum to step up our housing delivery. As a result, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Engagement Manager – Development to drive our engagement and development efforts authentically with both internal and external stakeholders.

Reporting to the General Manager of Engagement and Communications, this role will lead a team of two who are responsible for engaging with the Tāmaki community and Mana whenua throughout the life-cycle of development projects.

In this role, you will facilitate meaningful engagement including consultation and communication with Mana Whenua, residents, stakeholders and regulatory bodies, ensuring alignment with the Tāmaki Inclusive Engagement Strategy and Resource Management Act. You will focus on mitigating disruptions and maintaining positive relationships with all parties involved.

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Extensive leadership in community consultation and stakeholder management
  • Strategic expertise and experience in Resource Management Act compliance
  • Demonstrated experience leading community engagement strategies through development planning, construction and operational phases
  • Experience in construction, planning, or environmental management
  • Proven success in leading complex engagement strategies and building high-performing teams
  • A strategic mindset with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A structured approach to development, with the ability to influence and achieve ‘buy in’
  • Cultural understanding and experience engaging with Māori and Pacific communities

If you have experience gained within the construction, planning or environmental management fields and are passionate about making a difference in local communities, then this could be the role that you have been looking for.
