  • Permanent part time 0.6 FTE, working 24 hours per week

About the Role and Service

  • Kaitaia Hospital is Health New Zealand's northernmost hospital. It is a general hospital serving a widely scattered population. The 20 bed hospital has a general ward, maternity and paediatric ward with all the supporting services, and also provides a substantial community health service.
  • This role is based in the General Ward and will involve work on a shift roster between Monday – Sunday. It also includes an on call component
  • Under the direction and delegation of a registered nurse (RN) or Midwife the Enrolled Nurse provides assistance to patients to meet their activities of daily living, comfort and safety needs.
  • The Enrolled Nurse will perform delegated patient care duties to enhance the satisfaction of the patient and housekeeping duties to provide a clean tidy and organised environment.

About you

Essential Skills & Experience

  • New Zealand Enrolled Nurse with a current Annual Practising Certificate
  • Excellent standard of written and oral English language
  • Computer skills
  • Demonstrated ability to organise workload and manage time effectively
  • Willing team player
  • Demonstrates honesty, integrity and respect for all
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
  • Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
