The position
We are on the lookout for a self-motivated Intermediate or Senior Estimator with NZ experience to join our client's commercial team. You will be responsible for the preparation and pricing of competitive, comprehensive, and commercially sustainable tenders and ensuring offers of service are delivered on a timely basis and with a high standard of presentation. You'll be working on projects up to the value of $15m.
Salary
The salary is negotiable and dependent on experience but will be in the region of $140k-180k depending on experience.
Main duties
- Liaising with clients and design team during the negotiations pre-construction phase and where required providing budget and value engineering advice.
- Developing tender programmes as part of the pre-construction phase and assist with the development of full construction programmes.
- Negotiating procurement or merchants supply contracts to the best advantage of the division.
- Ensuring that cashflow projections are met with timely claims and payments, and that suppliers and subcontractor’s payments are made in a timely manner.
- Preparing comprehensive and accurate reports on projects status, including all financials, progress and exceptions.
Candidates must have
- 5 years or more experience in Estimating with a main contractor IN NEW ZEALAND
- Disciplined and self-motivated with a positive approach to work.
- Customer focused and committed to providing a high quality of service.
- Effective interpersonal skills and be able to work as part of a team.
- Ability to delegate tasks.
- Effective time management skills.
- Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
- Effective and professional communicator.
- Computer skills and keyboard accuracy.
