Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
Are you a numbers-geek, and keen to utilise your talents? Are you looking for an opportunity to propel your finance career forward? As Finance Officer within the Revenue and Refunds team you will assist with all financial activities in relation to motor vehicle licensing, driver licensing, road user charges, safety camera infringements and tolling.

Showcase your skills and knowledge to provide timely and accurate data entry into the register and financial system and certify that data validation and capture processes are in-line with internal controls.

You will provide high quality customer service through proactive and timely support to internal & external customers/stakeholders. You will also produce valuable reports, be able to import/export financial data and compare it for accuracy and completeness.

Ko koe tēnei | About you

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Knowledge and skills in reconciling and reviewing financial transactions with a view of measuring against internal controls.
  • Experience as a Financial Officer or similar role would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong computer literacy and experience with MS Office (Excel).
  • Proven experience with accuracy, attention to detail, and thoroughness of processing, recording, filing and retrieving information.
  • Ability to manage tasks and prioritize accordingly.
  • Ability to quickly learn operating various systems.
  • Have a positive attitude as well as being a team player with good organisational skills.

You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.

Corporate Support includes Finance, Legal, Risk and Assurance, Research and Analytics, Procurement, and Enterprise Change. For the Agency to be successful, Corporate & Commercial needs to deliver quality services efficiently.

Investment and Finance team is responsible for NZTA | Waka Kotahi's: financial management; performance reporting; business planning; and investment frameworks. Teams comprise: financial management including planning, budgeting, insurance, and supporting systems; Investment assurance and policy; financial operations including processing and revenue collection/refunds; organisational performance monitoring and reporting; and funding and financing, including funding and cashflow management.
