H2R Consulting is partnering with a leading data organisation that operates data centres across Australia and New Zealand.

They deliver essential digital infrastructure and data solutions that support security, social, and economic well-being. As the company continues to expand, they are looking for a Financial Accountant with a growth mindset to thrive alongside them and contribute to their ongoing success.

About the role:

In this newly created position, you will play a critical role in the finance team, assisting the Finance Manager with month end closing activities and business unit reporting processes. You will be responsible for the preparation of a range of financial, accounting and tax compliance.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

Business Reporting:

• Producing and continuously improving the monthly business reporting packs providing insights and value for each business unit
• Maintaining the General Ledger and post General Journals
• Lead the month end process for the NZ entity

Business Partnering:

• Facilitate meetings with business unit owners, fielding queries and presenting reporting packs and insights
• Working closely with areas of the business to ensure that finance is a key consideration
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects

Business Processes

• Review and approve expenditure to budget
• Prepare weekly cash flow projections for the treasury team, facilitate supplier opex/capex payments to the group’s treasury forecast
• Assist NZ Managers in the AP process for customers

Audits, Risk Reporting and Compliance

• Coordinate and respond to audit queries
• Prepare financial statements in compliance with accounting standards

About you:

• Applicants must be New Zealand Citizens or Permanent Residents (due to clearance requirements)
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• Chartered Accountant, CPA, or similar qualification required
• Proficiency in Excel at an intermediate or advanced level
• Ideally experienced in working within complex environments with multiple business units
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and influence both internal and external stakeholders
• Growth mindset, collaborative approach, and a positive, can-do attitude
• Ability to work independently with proactive problem-solving while maintaining strong teamwork and collaboration.
