What You Will Be Doing
You will take ownership of financial processes, for your business units ensuring accuracy and compliance while providing valuable insights to support decision-making. Your role will involve:

  • Month-End Close & Financial Reporting – Independently lead the month-end process, including accruals, journals, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Compliance & Controls – Ensure all financial transactions comply with NZ accounting standards and maintain effective internal controls.
  • Tax & Statutory Requirements – Manage GST, PAYE, FBT, and other compliance obligations.
  • Business Partnering – Provide financial analysis and reporting at both branch and group levels, supporting key business initiatives.
  • Cash Flow Management & Forecasting – Oversee cash flow and assist in budgeting and forecasting.
  • Fixed Assets  – Maintain the fixed asset register 
About You
To succeed in this role, you will be a proactive, detail-focused, and adaptable accountant who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will bring

  • CA or CPA qualification with strong technical accounting expertise.
  • Experience in a high-volume cost centre environment, managing multiple transactions efficiently.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups, sum if).
  • A hands-on approach with the ability to dive into detail while maintaining a commercial mindset.
  • Strong relationship management skills – able to translate financials into practical business insights.
  • A drive for efficiency – looking for ways to enhance processes within existing systems.
