Job Description

Role Description:
This position is essential in providing financial support for their allocated service portfolio, ensuring accurate recording, reporting, and forecasting of income, costs, and capital expenditures. The successful candidate will also support various service-related initiatives and provide organisational financial assistance.  You will report to the Financial Controller and be part of a wider team.

Our client is a large charitable trust dedicated to providing vital social and health services to vulnerable communities across New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly financial management reports and reconciliations.
  • Coordinate financial review meetings with Operational and General Managers.
  • Provide commentary on financial performance, highlighting risks and issues.
  • Analyse funding contracts and income streams, including financial and non-financial ratios.
  • Assist with new contract tenders by providing costing information.
  • Compile annual budgets for relevant services.
Knowledge and Qualifications:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in commerce or accounting.
  • Strong understanding of Accounting Standards and relevant legislation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Proven experience in financial and management accounting.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in audit management.
  
The role involves key relationships with internal stakeholders, including service managers, general managers, the finance team, and senior management. Externally, it requires collaboration with funders, auditors, and relevant authorities.
