About the opportunity:

Are you a skilled and experienced Fitter looking to take the next step in your career? Our client has been providing medium to heavy precision engineering repair for over 50 years and is seeking a Fitter to join their team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in providing overhaul and maintenance services to customers. 

Role description:

Mainly based in the workshop with only 10% of the time spent offsite on preventative maintenance checks and remedial work. The majority of the jobs you will work on are full overhauls of customers' equipment. 

Responsibilities might include:

  • Conduct preventive maintenance on machinery.
  • Identifying and addressing mechanical failures promptly.
  • Assisting in the installation of new machinery and maintaining accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
  • Adhering to safety protocols and promoting a safe work environment.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to achieve production targets.
  • Keeping abreast of industry best practices for machinery maintenance.

This role will suit someone with all or some following background/experience/qualities: 

  • Relevant Fitter trade qualification 
  • Proven experience as a Fitter or similar role.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and attention to detail.
