We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to manage the Food Services contract at Counties Manukau District, ensuring delivery of safe, high quality food that meets the needs of patients, staff and visitors. Supporting efficiency, sustainability and improved health outcomes and experiences for patients by delivering optimum food quality and choice.
You will provide leadership and guidance to ensure that food quality, safety, legislative requirements and various key performance indicators are met.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the delivery of food service across all District food service operations with a focus on safe food, food quality and service quality
- Ensuring nutritional needs are balanced and contribute to the overall health and wellbeing of hospital patients, visitors and staff
- Liaising between hospital wards and departments, including clinical dietetics and speech language therapy and with suppliers regarding service requests and improvements
- Liaising with the Contract Manager (Health New Zealand Procurement) and representatives of other participating Districts to ensure the contractual requirements of the Food Service Agreement (FSA) are met
- Management of contractor performance via audits and KPIs
- Support health equity and culturally appropriate food services through service plans and delivery, Counties Manukau policies, procedures and business strategies
The ideal candidate would preferably be a registered dietitian or have extensive experience in a large food service operation along with a background in nutrition. You will be:
- A strong leader with excellent communication skills
- Highly motivated and results orientated
- Able to work under pressure and prioritise work appropriately to lead the contracting team to achieve key objectives and targets
This is a full time, Monday to Friday position based at Middlemore Hospital with some travel to satellite sites required.
