Mō te tūnga | About the role

 

The role of FSSO is to provide customer service for our Front Counter based at Queenstown Police Station.  Every day you will be dealing with challenging situations which will need to be approached with professionalism, respect, empathy and in a positive manner. You will be welcoming customers into the station and ensuring their enquiries are understood and handled appropriately.

Queenstown, sits on the shores of the South Island’s Lake Wakatipu, set against the dramatic Southern Alps. Renowned for adventure, sports, its also a base for exploring the regions vineyards and historic mining towns. The Queenstown Police Station is one of the largest Police Station in the Otago Lakes Central Area.

We are looking for someone with excellent customer focus, keen to be part of a high performing team, and attention to detail with a can-do attitude. The role provides operational and administrational support to Police which includes but is not limited to, front counter customer service, data entry, use of Police systems, typing and file management

 

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Dealing with challenging circumstances in a customer services environment
  • Managing challenging situations involving members of the public in a professional, respectful, and empathetic manner.
  • Management and security of exhibits and lost and found property
  • Recording of complaints from members of the public, answering general inquiries and performing reception duties such managing contractor / visitor access.
  • Strong Organisational skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Utu ā-tau | Salary 
 

This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $69,337 and $72,430 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
