About the Role
Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive (DCE), Te Waipounamu, the Te Waipounamu Executive Governance Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the DCE meets set performance expectations and that the regional Senior Leadership team's operational cadences are effective and collaborative.
The primary purpose of the role is to:
- provide secretariat and governance support and advice to help guide the effective operation and evolution of the Te Waipounamu Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Deputy Chief Executive
- manages the timely and high-quality delivery response to Ministerial requests, regional Official Information Act (OIAs) requests, and oral and written parliamentary questions (OPQs and WPQs)
- drive leading practices to support excellent governance in the office of the DCE as well as the SLT.
About you
You will bring a strong background in business administration, governance and compliance at a regional level, with a systematic, structured and detail-oriented approach to supporting executive and senior leadership. Your ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment will ensure the smooth operation of governance processes, high-quality reporting, and compliance with statutory requirements.
Skilled in coordinating governance structures, preparing meeting materials, and providing timely, accurate advice, you will support the Deputy Chief Executive and Senior Leadership Team in making informed decisions. Your ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders will enhance transparency, accountability, and collaboration.
With a strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and equity, you will ensure governance processes align with the health system's goals and objectives. Your organisational skills, critical thinking, and proactive problem-solving approach will contribute to effective and efficient governance operations across Te Waipounamu.
