About the Role:

Are you ready to begin your midwifery career in a supportive and innovative environment? We invite applications from motivated Graduate Midwives to join our Maternity Services team.

This is a permanent position with negotiable hours to suit your needs. You’ll have the opportunity to provide compassionate, holistic care to wāhine and their whānau across the antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal journey. What We Can Offer New Graduate Midwives in Hawke’s Bay:

This is an exciting opportunity for new graduate midwives to come and work in Hawke’s Bay.

Our secondary facility manages 2,200 births per year, offering a mix of primary and secondary maternity care. The base hospital in Hastings is supported by a primary facility in the rural location of Wairoa. We are also commencing the construction of a new primary maternity facility alongside our secondary unit, designed with a focus on active labour, birth, and creating a whānau-friendly environment for the journey into parenthood.


As a new graduate midwife, you will have the opportunity to:

Work across the full midwifery scope of practice.
