About the role
This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for setting and implementing the health and safety strategy across the Trans-Tasman operations.
Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you will work closely with operational leaders, ensuring compliance, mitigating risks, and embedding a proactive safety culture. Balancing strategic oversight with hands-on execution, you will provide expert guidance while partnering with teams to ensure health and safety is a shared responsibility at every level.

Duties
- Develop and execute the overarching health and safety strategy
- Partner with operational leaders to integrate Health and Safety priorities into business operations
- Ensure compliance with NZ and Australian safety regulations and industry-specific requirements
- Lead risk management initiatives, including critical risk control and incident investigations
- Establish and maintain strategic safety partnerships with franchisees and tourism partners
- Drive continuous improvement through digital transformation and real-time reporting tools
- Oversee the development and delivery of safety training and wellbeing initiatives
- Provide expert Health and Safety advice to executives and frontline teams
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety
- Proven experience in a senior Health and Safety leadership role within a multi-site environment
- Strong knowledge of NZ and Australian health and safety regulations, codes of practice
- Experience in similar environment across diverse locations and business units
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with practical, operational execution
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- Experience in transport, tourism, or marine industries is highly desirable
