  • Key digital services leadership role in MFAT’s Information Management Division (IMD)
  • You and your team will be the trusted partners, providers and advisers for service delivery and improvement
  • Permanent, full time – Wellington based

 

Exciting new role responsible for leading an IMD team focused on delivering an integrated approach to customer-facing engagements, service interactions, first level support services, service transition and service assurance. 

 

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role  

 

IMD provides key services to the Ministry in the areas of knowledge and information technology management, ensuring that the Ministry has the digital tools it needs to enable day-to-day business.  Our staff are committed to building a safe, more prosperous and sustainable future for all New Zealanders, assisting the government with international priorities and providing advice to the government on the implications for New Zealand of what is happening in the world.

 

This new role has been established to ensure that all Ministry staff and customers around the world consistently receive quality service, in alignment with MFAT’s goals and strategic direction.  The key responsibilities of this role include:

 

  • Being a key contributor and collaborator as a member of the IMD leadership team that creates a safe and flourishing environment for all staff and partners, so that the Ministry has trust and confidence in its information and digital service delivery now and into the future.
  • Lead and manage a small team of IT service professionals specialising across the full service delivery lifecycle of service strategy, service design, service transition, 24x7 service centre/desk and service integration, providing coaching, guidance and support as needed.
  • Lead an advisory function for the IMD division that will drive improved performance and transparency in the delivery of information and digital services.

We expect to appoint between $167,587 to midpoint $197,162 (total remuneration, inclusive of our 3% KiwiSaver employer contribution) give or take depending on your level of experience.

We’d like to hear from you if you have the following skills and experience:

 

  • Extensive experience in IT service management
  • Successful track record of business relationship management including managing alignment among key stakeholders
  • Recognised as collaborating well with peers, suppliers and wider including across government or a relevant professional network.

 

Ideally you will also have a good understanding of tikanga (Māori customs and protocols), with the ability to weave te ao Māori (the Māori worldview) into your work. If you are just starting on this journey that’s OK too – as long as you have a willingness to learn and a desire to develop your cultural capability.  As a Te Tiriti o Waitangi partner, this is important to us and we offer training and support.
