Wellington Water Ltd is owned and holds relationships with 6 client councils, along with invested community stakeholders to ensure our capital programmes of work valued at approximately 330 million per annum are delivered safely to a high standard and have meaningful impact to residents and visitors of the region.

The opportunity

As our Head of Programme Delivery, you will provide leadership to a team of Programme Delivery Leads and integrate work priorities with our Major Projects Team to ensure capital works meet the needs of our client councils. This role will see you work collaboratively with our client councils, consultant and contractor suppliers, our commercial and procurement specialists and technical experts to direct decision making to meet strategic needs for the capital delivery programme.

Day to day you will focus on ensuring relationships continue to be fostered and utilise your extensive infrastructure programme management experience to ensure risk management, project standards, financial affordability and key objectives can be reached whilst improving the relationships Wellington Water holds.

About you

To be successful in this role you will bring the following:

  • Excellent project and programme management experience leading large infrastructure work programmes, ideally with a project management qualification
  • A relevant engineering degree or qualification with a technical understanding of three water networks or related infrastructure
  • Strong background in managing performance and partnerships within commercial and contractor panels
  • Proven people leadership experience with the ability to foster a high-performance team
  • Ability to develop meaningful engagement strategies and hold important community relationships, including with mana whenua and Iwi
