About the role
Reporting to the HR Manager, the purpose of this position is to provide leadership, specialist advice and support to staff, driving improvements in OHS performance, through building robust relationships at all levels of the business.
In this role, you are required to travel to 3 processing sites each week, promoting engagement and collaboration. Sites are located in Auckland and the Waikato.

Skills and experience
You will need well-developed people skills at all levels within the business, including the factory floor. Highly skilled in verbal communication, you will have strong written communication skills, a proactive and solution focused approach, and the ability to build connections and influence others.

Duties
- Conduct robust investigations in a timely manner with suggested corrective actions
- Regularly review health and safety systems
- Coach all levels of staff on best practice, providing support where needed
- Provide guidance on top ten Health and Safety Risks for all sites, ensuring controls are in place
- Maintain legal compliance with Health and Safety legislation
Skills and experience

- Relevant tertiary Health and Safety qualification
- Experience in manufacturing highly desirable
- Business acumen
- Collaborative by nature, with a highly engaging manner
- Experience working with hazardous chemicals
- Ability to work in an environment where animals are processed for food purposes
- Opportunity to achieve short term improvements and long-term change
- Use of a pool car
- Work at 3 different sites each week
- Flexible working hours (no WFH available)
