About the role

As Health Care Assistant you will be involved in the following:

  • Supporting our Nurses and other members of the Healthcare team
  • Patient supervision and/or movement
  • Stock reconciliation
  • Ward maintenance
  • Patient cares, as required

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Experience working with people in a caring capacity
  • The right to work in New Zealand to apply for this position
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
  • Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings

Salary range

This role belongs to the expired Te Whatu Ora/NZNO Collective Agreement and falls between Step 1 ($60,100 p.a. pro-rata) and Step 5 ($70,358 p.a. pro-rata) of the Health Care Assistants salary scale.
