About the Role
Bay of Plenty – Hauora a Toi are excited to offer two permanent part-time Health Care positions working 0.4FTE (20 hours per week), Sunday to Monday in the Acute Medical Ward based at Tauranga hospital. This is a wonderful opportunity to be part of a high-performing and collaborative team caring for acutely unwell medical patients in a busy and rewarding ward environment.
As a Health Care Assistant, you will work under the direction of our friendly, motivated nursing team, assisting with personal care, mobility, monitoring, and general clinical support. Every shift brings variety and a chance to make a real impact on patient comfort, recovery, and dignity.

About you
We are looking for calm, capable, and team-focused individuals who bring energy and compassion to every shift. The ideal candidates will be quick thinkers, great communicators, and eager to contribute to a positive team culture.
What you will bring:
- Ceritficate in Health Care Assistance Level 3 or 4 (or equivalent).
- Experience in a healthcare setting or related service.
- Strong organisation and communication skills, with the ability to remain composed under pressure.
- A safe, reliable, and patient-centred approach to clinical care.
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
- Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
