About the Role

We are looking for a flexible and enthusiastic Health Care Assistant for our Outpatients department. This is a permanent position 0.4 FTE

Assist in delivering high-quality care to patients attending secondary care outpatient clinics, ensuring their comfort and addressing their needs effectively. Contribute to the well-being of our community by supporting patients through their outpatient care journey.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Supporting secondary care full onsite training is provided, and you will be supported by a team of skilled enrolled and registered nurses.

About you

Recommended Skills:

  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in outpatient or secondary care environments.
  • Strong commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centred care and maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
  • Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
