  • 0.8 FTE - 32 Hours per week

About the role

As Health Care Assistant you will be involved in the following:

  • Assist with practicing rehabilitation exercises, restorative nursing exercises and daily living skills
  • Patient watch/supervision and/or movement with one-on-one care
  • Restocking and setting up of equipment
  • General department housekeeping
  • Supporting our nurses and other members of the healthcare team
  • Clerical duties as required
  • Stock reconciliation
  • You will need to be able to commit to rotating rostered shifts

Hours of work are Monday to Sunday inclusive, based on rostered shifts including nights and weekends.

About you:

  • Must hold working rights in New Zealand
  • Well organised, with a positive 'can do' attitude and be able to communicate clearly and openly
  • Must be able to take direction from a variety of staff
  • Experience working with people from a health setting will be advantageous
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
  • Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings

Salary range

This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the expired NZNO CEA and the salary will be in accordance with the HCA Pay Scale, between $60,100 and $70,358 p.a pro-rata dependant on relevant experience.
