About the Role
We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant to join our kapa (team).
Healthcare Assistants are instrumental in providing care to patients and supporting the clinical team. As a Healthcare Assistant you will assist nursing staff with patient cares whilst maintaining a safe and clean work environment on the unit.
You will be responsible for:
- Assisting nursing staff with patient cares
- Keeping the ward tidy and organised
- Answering bell calls
- Assisting with personal care and mobilising patients
- Ordering and restocking of supplies
Shifts are Monday to Sunday - Morning, Afternoon and Nights. Salary starting from $60,100 to $70,358 per annum. Based on the NZNO Nursing and Midwifery collective agreement.
About the Service
Ward A5 is a busy general surgical unit with a focus on elective surgery including colorectal, hepatobiliary and bariatric surgery.
About you
We are looking for someone who is empathic and reliable with good time management. You will have the willingness to learn, have great communication skills and are a team player.
- Ability to work all shifts - Morning, Afternoon and Nights
- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a multidisciplinary team
- Initiative and a proactive approach to work
- Experience as a Healthcare
Assistant or similar is desirable
