Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Health Care Assistant to join our team. Our HCA's work rostered and rotating duties in all areas of our hospitals (Base and Hawera). This position is for an experienced HCA who is looking for variation of duties and a new challenge! 

The Health Care Assistant is a vital, equal value member of the department who plays a pivotal role in efficient and effective provision of patient care. 

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Excellent organisational skill.
  • A friendly disposition and excellent communication skills.
  • Successfully completed the Health Care Assistant or Health Support Assistant training or a NZQA approved National Certificate in Support of the Older Person (level 3) or a National Certificate in Community Support Services (level 3).
  • Ability to work as a member of the team.
  • Customer focus.
