As a Diesel Mechanic, you will take charge of maintaining and repairing diesel-powered machinery and vehicles. Your tasks will include running diagnostic tests, test driving machinery to evaluate its performance, and maintaining detailed records of all work done. Strong organisational skills and effective communication are key, as you’ll be expected to keep accurate service records and interact with customers daily.

Key Responsibilities:
Reviewing work orders and planning tasks accordingly
Developing work plans after thoroughly assessing issues
Running diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpreting results to suggest solutions
Inspecting vehicle and machinery systems, including suspensions, steering, and exhausts
Repairing or replacing transmissions, brakes, engines, and other essential parts
Responding to emergency breakdowns with field visits
Test driving repaired machinery and vehicles to ensure performance
Performing routine maintenance like oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment, and brake checks
Keeping accurate records of inventory and serviced vehicles
