Job Description
We are seeking passionate and experienced High-Performance Rugby League Coaches to lead the development of elite athletes within our growing Development Academy. With multiple venues rolling out across Aotearoa, this is a unique opportunity to shape rugby league's future, from elite programs to grassroots development.
You'll collaborate with players, schools, district leagues, and national academies, ensuring success for athletes and contributing to the rugby league ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Player Development: Lead and develop elite athletes, tailoring training and guiding career transitions.
- Strategy & Tactics: Create and adjust strategies using data and match footage.
- Training & Conditioning: Work with the medical team on fitness, injury prevention, and player health.
- Mental Coaching: Foster resilience and integrate psychological strategies for performance.
- Leadership & Team Management: Mentor players and coaching assistants, ensuring alignment with team goals.
- Collaboration with Schools and Tertiary & Ecosystem: Build and maintain rugby league programs across school and tertiary levels.
- Performance Analysis: Use video and data analysis to refine coaching and track player progress.
- Game Day: Lead preparations and provide tactical direction for competition.

Qualifications & Skills:
- Relevant coaching qualifications (Sport Science, Strength & Conditioning, etc.) and L2+ accreditation (e.g., ASCA, UKSCA, NSCA).
- Proven success coaching, with strong game analysis and data-driven skills.
- Experience with school programs, district leagues, and strong leadership and communication abilities.
