Mō te tūnga - About the Role

Have you ever thought of working in a commercial kitchen?
Join our dedicated and hard-working WellFood Department and help feed our tūroro (patients) and whānau.

We currently have two roles available:
Kitchen Assistant
0.75FTE (30 hours a week), Permanent role
Monday, Tuesday & Friday 6.30am to 3pm and Tuesday & Sunday 4.30pm to 7.30pm.

Our Kitchen Assistant kapa (team) are responsible for ensuring that the needs of our tūroro (patients) are met to the highest standard. Preparing and presenting food and carrying out general cleaning duties. Salary starting from $23.75 per hour, Based on the Etū Multi-Employer Collective Agreement.

Cook
1FTE (40 hours a week), Permanent role
Monday & Tuesday 9am to 5.30pm and Friday, Saturday & Sunday 9am to 5.30pm
Shifts times may change due to operational needs. This will be discussed at interview stage.

Our cookery kapa (team) are responsible for ensuring that the needs of our tūroro (patients) are met to the highest standard. Following standardised recipes and using creative flair to present food that we can be proud of. Salary starting from $25.50 per hour, Based on the Etū Multi-Employer Collective Agreement.

Ko wai koe - About You

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and flexible candidate who is able to bring their passion for food to our Burwood facility.

You will also be responsible for maintaining and adhering to our Food Control Plan, Health New Zealand code of conduct and Health and Safety procedures.

Full training will be provided to all new staff joining our team.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A fast learner who can pick up new skills quickly
  • A friendly, positive attitude with the ability to maintain speed without compromising standards.
  • Reliable with good time management.
  • Exceptional skill and passion for large-scale cookery (Cook position)
  • Experience in a hospital or aged care modification diet training preferred (Cook position)
  • Cookery qualifications preferred (Cook position)
