About the Role

As an HR Business Partner, you will hold a portfolio within the Hospital and Specialist Services directorate our (our clinical and clinical support staff) where you will play a key role in developing our workforce, people and culture in line with Health New Zealand’s goal of achieving the health targets.

  • Partnering with line managers at all levels, our wider staff, and external stakeholders (including Unions)
  • Working with our national team on key programmes and projects
  • Include ER, OD, facilitation and coaching, change management, employee life cycle management using our complete range of employment frameworks.

About the Team

The team consists of passionate Human Resources Business Partners who work alongside specific services and directorates and also hold specific portfolios of interest. We are a dedicated team or HR professionals who come from a wide variety of disciplines which we value in leveraging each other’s strengths. The team also consists of a Team Administrator, L&D Facilitator and a Facilitation Coordinator who work closely with the HR Business Partners in driving culture change in line with the health targets.

Waikato Hospital is a major regional hospital in Hamilton and is a leading tertiary teaching hospital located in Hamilton, New Zealand, serving as the regional hub for the Midland area, which includes the Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Lakes, Tairawhiti, and Taranaki districts. About you

As an experienced HR Professional you will have:

  • Tenacity and resilience, someone who is authentic, compassionate and thinks laterally.
  • The ability to be flexible and fit into a high performing, constructive team and be able to function effectively as part of a district and national ‘team of teams’. That needs a person who can navigate, help others and seek input.
  • You will need strong written and oral communication, including professional business writing.
  • A Tertiary Diploma or Degree in management, human resources management, law or organisational development
  • 5+ years experience in providing HR partnering and advice to leaders on HR matters.
  • 3-4 years experience in two or more of the specialist portfolio areas e.g. Employment Relations, Organisational Development, Change Management.
