Salary:       NZNO MECA Health Care assistant Step 1 $46,182 - Step 5 $53,803 pro rata 

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

The Health Care Assistant (HCA) is an important member of the team appointed to support and work alongside staff, delivering quality patient care, cleaning and undertaking housekeeping duties.  the role will include performing particular tasks such as urinalysis, Covid Swabbing and blood Glucose Monitoring. The Health Care Assistant may also be required to undertake a specific area of responsibility, as assigned by their manager.

Hutt Hospital is a busy 260-bed facility providing secondary services for Lower and Upper Hutt cities. We are a tertiary centre for Regional plastics, oral maxillofacial, burns and rheumatology services.

Hutt ICU has 8 bed spaces. We look after burns, plastics, orthopaedics, obstetrics, general medicine and surgical patients. We don - t manage major trauma patients but may be involved in preparing them for transfer to another hospital.
