The position
We are on the lookout for a self-motivated Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join our client's growing team. Applicants must have full project lifecycle experience, who are able to competently run a project throughout all the stages of construction from start to finish.
We are only accepting applications for this vacancy from people who are living in New Zealand now and have at least 4 years NZ experience of working as a QS in a main contractor company with NZ work rights.
The salary is negotiable and dependent on experience but will be in the region of $120k-130k.

Main duties
· Measuring and pricing for consent and for construction
· Obtaining supplier quotes for materials
· Calculate material rates
· Contract negotiations (with clients and contractors)
· Invoice auditing - processing variations, client progress claims, subcontractor progress payments, financial tracking/reporting and supplier payments; general contracts administration, document control
· Overseeing staff when required, actively involved in the resolution of disputes between contracting parties
· Programming and quality assurances
· Preparation of construction schedule of quantities, project budgets
· Assisting health and safety officer when required including report writing
· Attending site visits, sub-contractor engagements and client liaison

About you
· Four years’ experience in Quantity Surveying
· Disciplined and self-motivated with a positive approach to work
· Customer focused and committed to providing a high quality of service
· Effective interpersonal skills and be able to work as part of a team
· Ability to delegate tasks
· Effective time management skills
· Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
· Effective and professional communicator
· Computer skills and keyboard accuracy
