About the Role

Pharmacy Services have two vacancies for full time, NZ qualified, intern pharmacists for the 2026 (January – December) year. If you are enthusiastic, hard-working and keen to work and learn in a clinically focussed pharmacy department, within a large tertiary hospital, then this role is for you. 

A well-planned, comprehensive and supported learning programme is provided – including time spent working throughout all areas of hospital pharmacy and within our on-site community pharmacy. Surrounded by a great team of friendly, supportive and experienced staff - what more could you ask for in your internship year? 

The salary for this position will be based on experience and in line with the Allied, Public Health & Technical workers MECA agreement. Additional benefits include kiwisaver contributions (if eligible), professional development and wellness support.

About the Team/ Service

Providing services to all Waikato district hospitals and tertiary level service to hospitals in the Midland area, our work is full of variety, challenge and interesting situations. Learning and improving knowledge is key for keeping up with the range of speciality services that we cover. Dispensary, supply, compounding, clinical trials, clinical pharmacy and wide-ranging medicines safety activities are some of the services we provide, so our team of 70+ people become multi-talented and versatile. Our service prides itself on providing patient centric, customer focussed, high-quality pharmaceutical care within a caring and friendly environment.


About you

Skills and experience you’ll need to be considered for the role:

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy degree (or equivalent) recognised in New Zealand
  • Registration with Pharmacy Council of New Zealand inclusive of Intern pharmacist scope of practice
