We are looking for a second Senior Advisor to appoint to our Ōtepoti office.

Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The opportunity
As a Senior Advisor you will be the champion and promoter of the Te Puni Kōkiri investment strategy to enable better outcomes for Māori. Working alongside and supporting your colleagues across Te Waipounamu region you will form enduring relationships while understanding the context of your region. This includes:
- Supporting the region to deliver on the work programme
- Supporting the Regional Director and Team Leader to build a strong presence for Te Puni Kōkiri in the region to support the implementation of Government policies
- Provide mentoring and coaching to Advisors within the region
- Manage the flow of information between Māori and the Policy puni for programme evaluation\Manage local level provider contracts including reporting and funding approvals
The salary range of this role is $104k - $115k per annum however this will be determined by the successful candidate's skills and experience relevant to this role.
Ko wai koe | About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following essential skills:
- Have strong relationships in Otago with Ngai Tahu Papatipu Rūnanga and Ngā Maata waka communities and an ability to actively manage significant relationships, to value diverse perspectives and experiences.
- Currently live in Otago within daily commuting distance to the regional office in Otepoti-Dunedin from Monday to Friday.
- Have experience working with Whānau, Hapū, Iwi, Māori organisations and communities.
- Have a high level of understanding of the Machinery of Government, public service and the public sector processes that ensure impartiality of all Public Servants.
- Have an understanding of The Treaty of Waitangi and Te Tiriti ō Waitangi and recognise the importance of the Treaty-Te Tiriti from both Māori and Crown perspectives.
- A level of competency in te reo Māori, or a willingness to learn.
- Clean full drivers licence.
- Are comfortable working in a te ao Māori environment and a kaupapa Māori environment.
