Health New Zealand, is looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join the Ashburton
Hospital WellFood Department. Join our dedicated and hard-working WellFood
Department and help feed our tūroro (patients) and whānau (families).
You will be responsible for:
- Carrying out the general kitchen and cleaning duties which will include washing dishes
- Providing great customer service to our tūroro (patients) and their whānau
- Trayline dishing up of meals and desserts
- Collecting meal trays from our tūroro (patients)
- Closing the caf
Shift Available:
0.5FTE (20 hours a week)
3pm - 7pm Thursday to Monday
Salary starting rate $23.75 per hour. Based on the E tū Service and Food Workers collective agreement

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and flexible
candidate who is able to bring their passion to the Ashburton kitchen. WellFood
is looking for motivated and punctual kaimahi (staff) to join our kapa (team).

- Excellent communication skills
- Strong teamwork and relationship skills
- Good time management and an eye for detail.
- A flexible approach and a - can do - attitude
- Focus, determination and a sense of pride in your work
- Previous experience in a similar environment would be advantageous
