The Management Accountant is a new, key position in the business services team who will actively maintain the key finance functions.

These will include payroll and transaction processing, reconciliations and financial and management reporting. We are looking for someone who operates with a high level of accuracy, possesses strong technical abilities and who is passionate about the work they do. You will have exceptional communication and relationship building skills which will assist you in working collaboratively with the diverse business.

Key Duties and responsibilities include:
• Lead and process the bi-weekly payroll including control of all payroll data and staff changes.
• Managing the invoice transaction processing system from invoice receipt to timely payment.
• Reconciliation of all bank accounts and credit cards.
• Provide reporting and analysis to the business, then work with the business managers and team leaders to ensure they understand their results.
• Support the annual financial budget process, ensuring the accounting system and reporting accurately reflects the budget and any forecasts.

About you:
To be successful in this role you will need:
• An accounting qualification is preferred and/or a tertiary qualification relevant to finance.
• At least 3 + experience working with in Big 4 with a strong understanding of accounting functions and processes including cashbook, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and payroll.
• Experience with XERO and i-payroll systems or similar systems an advantage.
• Experienced in the preparation of annual financial statements that comply with current financial reporting standards.
• A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, maintain confidentiality and demonstrate cultural awareness.
• An understanding of and a commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi
