Manager, Delivery Support Services
Mō te tūnga | About the role
As Manager, Delivery Support Services, you will lead a team to provide support to teams across HUD's Delivery group. You will ensure the delivery of quality advice, timely and accurate responses to requests, and meet other business needs that help the group to run effectively and efficiently. This includes:
Working across the group to ensure Ministerial briefings and other papers are delivered on time and are fit-for-purpose. This will include both advice and guidance to others and taking the lead on authoring papers where required.
Coordinating across the group to manage responses to requests from Ministers Offices (e.g. Official Information Act requests, PQs, other ad-hoc requests), departmental Official Information Act requests and reporting processes (e.g, Annual Review), working closely, and ensuring alignment, with the Ministry's Communications & Government Services team and practices and processes.
Maintaining a consolidated view of key messages about housing delivery and the work of the Delivery group and leading responses to media requests.
Leading administrative support capability across the group, working with leaders across the group to understand and meet their requirements in support of organisational priorities. You will work closely with Executive Assistants to the DCE and GMs.
You will work closely with the Delivery group GMs and DCE to identify and manage risks and issues arising from the above. You will play a key role in growing capability across the group to ensure quality outputs.
This role sits within our newly created National Settings team within the Ministry's Delivery group.
The salary range for this role is $155,346- $219,312 + 3% Kiwisaver contribution. We will most likely be appointing between $155,346 - $182,760.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate excellent people leadership and team/project management.
You will be adept at day to day management of outputs and successfully shepherd these to completion while also being able to grasp the strategic issues, the needs and preferences of Ministers and other stakeholders, and keep up with a constantly changing context - in other words you will be output focussed but be well plugged in to ensure you hit the mark. The ideal candidate will bring pace and energy to this critical support function.
  • Ideally your skills and experience will include:
-A process-oriented focus with a keen eye for detail and a relentless focus on meeting customer needs
-A proven ability to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, navigate issues and solve problems
-An understanding of government, particularly sound knowledge of government and public sector processes and working with Ministers' offices
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build and leverage relationships and partner with colleagues
-A track record of providing sound, trusted advice to senior leaders
-Demonstrated leadership experience, particularly in establishing new functions and developing capability.
