The Information, Data and Analytics group are looking for an energetic and experienced people leader to leverage data for great outcomes, while ensuring a high level of individual and team development.

Te tūranga - The role

As the Manager, Deposit Takers Statistics your role will be responsible for leading a team to deliver data outputs (products and services) and outcomes ('great' and 'best') across the dimensions of:

  • People leadership, empowering the team to achieve challenging goals
  • Production and delivery of data products and insights
  • Stakeholder engagements, collaborating with providers, users and peers.

The deposit takers statistics team provides end-to-end data services, from assessing emerging data needs to collecting and analysing data and disseminating key metrics and insights. The team enables prudential supervision, financial system monitoring and economic assessment, while also publishing high quality official statistics for New Zealand.

In this role you will be a trusted data leader for the Bank and an advocate of informed decision making through data-driven business practices. You will facilitate an environment where innovation thrives and actively contribute to a cohesive leadership team in the Data, Statistics & Analytics department.

Ō pūkenga - About you
To be successful you'll have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification supported ideally by minimum of eight years relevant work experience, including proven experience in leading a team of data professionals.
  • Proven end-to-end experience in the development and maintenance of data, from assessing need and collection through to insights and analysis.
  • Proven ability to lead project work from an end-to-end perspective with a continuous improvement mentality.
  • Well-developed stakeholder and relationship management skills with the proven ability to build and sustain positive collaboration with a wide range of people (technical and non-technical).
  • Experience in implementing strategic data initiatives.
  • Statistical, financial sector and macro-economic understanding.
