Are you an innovative leader passionate about advancing Hauora Māori? The Ministry of Health is seeking a Manager Māori Health Business Partnering to forge robust business partnerships with people leaders across Manatū Hauora.
Ko ake mahi - What you'll do
In this pivotal role, you will lead a dynamic team, develop innovative approaches, and deliver high-quality, customised hauora Māori, Tiriti, and equity support across the Ministry to drive the vision of pae ora (healthy futures) for Māori
- Team Leadership & Mentoring: Lead, guide, and nurture the Business Partnering team by exemplifying people-centred leadership and providing robust pastoral care and development support.
- Innovative Partnership Delivery: Design and implement targeted, customised hauora Māori, Tiriti, and equity support through strategic business partnerships with people leaders across Manatū Hauora.
- Strategic Planning & Continuous Improvement: Establish effective systems and processes for business partnering, proactively identifying opportunities, risks, and emerging trends to refine the operating model.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and maintain trusted relationships within the Directorate, Ministry, and the wider health sector necessary for an aligned and cohesive work programmer
- Driving Organisational Excellence: Lead the development and implementation of priority initiatives and programmes, reporting progress and role modelling the Ministry's culture, values, and commitment to equity.
Ko pūkenga - What you'll bring
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- Knowledge and understanding of systems and design thinking and a reputation for applying system and design thinking in building people and business capability and leading system change in complex organisations
- A deep understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equity and its application to government policy contexts
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, persuade, influence and build trusted and productive partnerships
- Knowledge and understanding of central government, ministry and ministerial settings, legislative and policy context for Hauora Māori
