RobLawMax Recruitment has exclusively partnered with our client who specialises in Power Generation, Heavy Industrial Maintenance and Project Management services focusing on the operation, maintenance, major overhaul and strip down of the rotating equipment with a wealth of experience in steam turbine/generator overhauls for the power, dairy, chemical industry in NZ and throughout SE Asia and Australia.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing solutions and providing expert advice on turbine and other rotating plant issues. This role involves collaborating with clients to scope work, develop outage plans, and manage remedial projects. The Mechanical Engineer will also play a key role in major procurement, budgeting, and new project initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement solutions for turbine and rotating plant problems.
- Collaborate with clients to scope work and develop comprehensive outage plans.
- Assess and scope remedial work and new projects.
- Oversee major procurement activities related to mechanical engineering projects.
- Prepare and manage project budgets and timelines.
- Conduct thorough analysis and troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project teams and clients.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in mechanical engineering.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a heavy industrial rotating plant environment.
- Experience in the power industry is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of turbine operations and mechanical systems.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
