Are you an experienced Mechanical Fitter looking for your next challenge? We are seeking experienced & qualified Engineering Specialists to join our team. In this role, you will be required to carry out maintenance for various businesses across the Wellington region, with the first job based in Porirua. You will play a key role in assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assemble and install mechanical systems and equipment within the manufacturing space.
Ensure seamless integration of components to optimise machinery performance.
Measure and fabricate materials with precision using hand and power tools.
Weld and fabricate components as required to meet specific needs.
Diagnose faults and perform operational maintenance on machines.
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and plans for manufacturing operations.
Follow detailed instructions to ensure accurate machine assembly and function.
Follow safety procedures and comply with health and safety regulations in the workplace.
Requirements:
Proven experience in mechanical fitting.
Good welding and fabrication experience.
Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and perform maintenance.
Computer literate and able to work with relevant software for diagnostic and maintenance purposes.
Experience with reading and interpreting technical documents and blueprints.
Electrical diagnostics experience would be beneficial.
A commitment to following safety protocols in all tasks.
You have the option to work as a waged employee or as a contractor.
The pay rate is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
